Like a Dragon: Ishin brings in familiar faces to tell this epic historical tale. Our hero, Sakamoto Ryoma, is a true historical figure largely credited with overthrowing the shogunate and taking Japan into a radical reformation. While other games tell earlier stories in Japanese history, Ishin lets you experience the story of how the iconic samurai era vanished. Like a Dragon: Ishin is an action-adventure historical thriller set uniquely in 1860s Kyo, a fictionalized version of Kyoto. The latter is also launching on day one for Game Pass.A hero of Japanese history brings about the samurai’s end Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is out in early 2023 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. Rise of the Ronin is planned to release in 2024, and is receiving support from UK-based PlayStation studio XDEV. The team at Team Ninja is really motivated with these two big games coming out next. We plan to release Wo Long and then release Rise of the Ronin and keep on going on that track and making these great games moving forward. “The feedback has been good from what we’ve seen, and we’re very happy with it. This is our next big title after Wo Long. Speaking to NextGenPlayer for MP1st along with producer Masaaki Yamagiwa at TGS 2022, Yasuda said, “I’m providing direction on the game. It shouldn’t be a surprise then that Fumihiko Yasuda, who produced Nioh 2 and Wo Long, is involved. In addition to an open world, it features combat that calls their past action RPGs to mind. However, players embody a ronin free to make their own choices. Set in Japan during Bakumatsu, it sees the Tokugawa Shogunate colliding with the Anti-Shogunate forces. However, Rise of the Ronin, its upcoming PS5 exclusive, is arguably more hyped following its State of Play reveal. Team Ninja’s Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has generated buzz lately, thanks to a limited-time demo on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
